About The Author
I know time is in short supply for many parents but even brief interactions between an engaged parent and his or her child can be magical. My hope is that you will use each of my books as a shared experience with your child!
-Emily A. FilmoreEmily is a mommy, writer, artist, former licensed attorney and wife. She and her husband started practicing attachment parenting before their daughter was even born and they have found it to be a very rewarding experience. She derives the inspiration for the books from her adventures with her four year old daughter; each book is a labor of love intended to share the wonder and joy she feels every day. Emily’s first priority is to be a centered, loving and respectful mom; thankfully she has found a way to balance that with her work as author and illustrator of the With My Child series, writing her parenting blog, and other writing activities. Emily is currently involved in writing and illustrating for the School of the New Spirituality on Neale Donald Walsch’s "Conversations with God for Kids."
Emily has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Minor in English from Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri and a Juris Doctor from St. Louis University School of Law. Her career path has been winding and unpredictable but she feels she has finally found her passion in using her creativity for children.
Emily is available for special events, book readings and signings and is dedicated to giving back to the community to make children's lives better. Please contact us for information about personal appearances and/or fundraising opportunities.

The secret to being a good parent
Every parent deserves to know that the secret of good parenting doesn’t rest in the number of minutes or hours you spend with your child per day; it lies in the way you spend whatever minutes you have together. Many parents feel immense guilt about the time they spend apart from their children due to work and other obligations. Those parents need to know that interactions, even short ones, when rich in quality, closeness, fun, hugs and learning about each other will lead to strong relationships and strong children! According to AskDrSears.com children who have experienced the attachment style of parenting have better behavior, are more trusting, are more independent, are more empathetic, and have increased learning capacity just to name a few. Reading together with your child is a good start, reading a book that encourages interaction and discussion is a GREAT start! The With My Child series of books are a great tool parents can use to increase the quality of bonding time through shared experiences.
